It seems that as of late, self proclaimed 'failed fame seekers' ANVIL have
been plastered all over the metal web, well... Things are about to get even
more frantic for the 'Spinal tap-like' metal heads now with the apparent
confirmation that the band will be playing the UK's biggest metal festival:
DOWNLOAD!

27 years ago, comedic metal band ANVIL played a muddy little field once
know for nothing, now known for the biggest metal festival the UK has
ever seen: back then it was Monsters Of Rock '82 now it seems the band
will be tearing it up again at Download 2009!

This apparent confirmation came from the directer of the bands new
mockumentary: ANVIL (The story of Anvil), Sacha Gervasi, on BBC
television last week.

Sacha simply stated during the interview:
"After playing Donnington Park in 1982, 27 years on, they've been invited
back to play Download."

On the subject of the new film, Sasha also stated when asked about the
link to 'This Is Spinal Tap'
"The whole point was to encourage people not to believe that it was real.
It was structured in such a way so that you wouldn't be sure, so when the
story turned, it really turned in a way you weren't expecting. People
expect it just to be funny because it's about heavy rock, but by the end of
the film, it's completely not that. We're really using 'Spinal Tap' as a Trojan
horse to get to the audience."

The film is set for a Spring release in the UK, and we look forward to it
greatly!
