Its not that often here at Scorpio that we report on 'buisness' news, but
this 1 could prove quite importent for music fans and record labels alike.

The BBC reported last week that media giants Google, had begun to
remove all EMI artist videos from there video sharing site YouTube after
contract renewal talks with music lebel EMI had broken down.

Google's YouTube.
Google's YouTube.

Acording to The Financial Times the plans under consideration are
modeled after Hulu, the video site owned by NBC Universal and News
Corp., which is the paper's parent company.

Hulu, makes the majority of its capital by ad placment prior to the main
video - much like many on demand TV sites.

Three other big music owners are currently in talks with Google INC, they
are EMI, Sony and Universal. They now get a fee each time one of their
videos is watched on YouTube, but Google reportedly is pushing to
reduce that fee and offer more of the ad revenue associated with the
videos.

The Times said the music companies are discussing a variety of plans,
including a partnership with Hulu, creating a premium service on YouTube
or creating a standalone venture.
