Metric are back in 2009, and in a big way indeed. 3 years after their last
record, 2005’s spectacular “Live It Out”, which featured the worldwide
hit single “Monster Hospital”, the Canadian quartet have completed
their fourth studio record, “Fantasies”, scheduled for release on 20
April, produced by Gavin Brown, co-produced by Jimmy Shaw and mixed
by John O’Mahony (The Strokes and Coldplay).

Moreover, in an admirable display of punk DIY spirit, the band are
bucking convention and self-releasing the self-financed album through
their own global label operation, Metric Music International, with a little
help from their friends, including Last Gang in Canada, Arts and Crafts
in Mexico and PIAS/Integral lending a hand in the UK. Moreover, the
band are making the album available for pre-sale on March 2 via their
official website, with each pre-order coming with an immediate mp3
download of the first single, “Help I’m Alive”, followed by other
exclusive bonus materials when the album is released.

Fans can download a free acoustic version of 'Help I'm Alive' on the
band’s website.
