Intro:
Canadian Punk Metel-Heads the Cancer Bats are set to return to music
stores around Europe this year with the upcoming album 'Bears, Mayors,
Scraps & Bones'. The album is set for release on April 13th this year and
the single: 'Scared To Death' is taken from that album, lets see if its a
positive omen for the album!

Track Review:
It may have only been a 2 year wait - during which I managed to see The
Bats live twice, but still I feel my ears are experiencing a slight withdrawal
from the Bats, as after hearing there 2nd album 'Hail Destroyer' back in
2008, Now its time for our 1st glimpse at there 3rd album... And from the
intro its plain to tell that The Bat's haven't lost any of there attitude in the 2
years they've been away.

The backing guitar is as punky as ever with Liam Cormier providing
venom-ridden vocals over it. There are quite a-lot of 'screamo-like' vocals
throughout the track, but thankfully theres not a hint of commercialism that
seems to have infected some other bands in the genera: Bring Me The
Horizon spring to mind.

The vocals are the real stand out element to the track, although the guitar
backing is just as welcome - theres not much I can say to criticize this
track, and It really does build up my hopes for the album.

9 / 10 - A great addition to the punk / metal cross-over genera!
