Bio:
Jenny Lindfors - from Dublin, Ireland - has been writing songs since the
age of six, and her debut album, "When the Night Time Comes" is
self-produced and recorded across Dublin.

Jenny has toured in the UK and Ireland with Adele, Angus & Julia Stone
and Rodrigo y Gabriela, and is building a strong fanbase. Now based in
London, she is playing various gigs and festivals in 2008.

Night Time
First track on the album, and there is a feel of Newton Faulkner in the
accompaniment, although it is achieved with seperate guitar and
percussion. Nice rhythmic piece, sets the tone for the album which does
not vary dramatically.

2x1
Lead single from the album, the song feels like it should go somewhere,
but never really builds and stays in the same gear - a little bit of a let
down, it could have been more. The harmonica solo is a nice touch.

By The Wayside
Opens up with a solo acoustic guitar motif, it is only joined by vocals, which
make this song more mellow and down.

Timewarp
A more upbeat song than By the Wayside, makes for some difference.
There are some nice melodic movements and ideas within the layers of
this song. An example of the well thought guitar accompaniments and a
catchy tune.

When the Night Time Comes (OVERALL)
Overall this album is a good debut effort, although very same-y. Lindfor's
voice is impressive and suits the music well, and the accompaniment is well
arranged behind her - primarily focusing on the guitarist/singer/songwriter
feel. The inclusion of some more obscure instruments such as the Banjo
give the individual songs colour and textures of their own.

6/10 - Impressive, just too similar.
